Two lessons I learned from the SDR Leaders of USA event

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

These two lessons are great ways to vet candidates better through the interview process.

There's nothing worse than making a bad hire. Especially when you could've prevented it.

✅ Self-awareness

A common trait Kayla Fenske at Nooks finds in successful reps: they're very self-aware.

- They know when they're falling behind

- They know their strengths/weaknesses

- They know how to navigate internal relationships (with their AE, etc)

Here's the money question she asks towards the end of the interview process:

"Out of everyone you've talked to so far, what green and red flags would everyone share about you?"

✅ Coachability

You don't teach coachability, you hire for it. Do NOT compromise on this one.

Competency is great. You need to test their abilities to problem solve, write emails, make cold calls, etc.

But great sales cultures are filled with coachable reps & leaders.

Here's how to put this into action:

- Give reps an exercise (write a cold email, etc)

- Ask them to critique themselves

- Then give them coaching

- Give them homework to rewrite and send you the email

Here's what to look for:

- Are they receptive to your coaching?

- Can they articulate their takeaways?

- Do they put your coaching/feedback into action?

You want reps who crave coaching.
